CEB umpires present at MLBUC 2009
CEB umpires David Kulhánek, František Přibyl and Vladimír Richter (Czech Baseball Association umpires) participated in MLB Umpire Camp 2009 (Long Beach, California, mlb.mlb.com/mlb/official_info/umpires/camp/index.jsp) which took place between 8th and 14th November. They improved their umpire skills and knowledge under the sight of experienced instructors. Former MLB umpires belonged to the instructors (Bruce Froemming, Steve Rippley, Larry Young), then there were PBUC instructors led by Justin Klemm. Head of IBAF umpire, Dick Runchey, was present at lessons and also on the field. These subject matters were discussed during MLBUC 2009: • Definition and philosophy of strike zone • Two-umpire system • Definitions baseball rules • Home plate positioning • Balk seminar • Stretching matrix • “ImPACT” conclusion testing Whole program is available here: mlb.mlb.com/mlb/official_info/umpires/camp/2009_umpire_camps_curriculum.pdf CEB umpires together with another international umpire, Tony Jones, gave to MLB.com interview: mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp
